about

Thee Manatees release debut AA-side single on ltd edition 7” vinyl

2015 saw the release of their EP, but for their new single the group wanted to find a certain 'something' to complete their recorded sound. A chance encounter led them to a reclusive Mid-Walian producer with a cache of vintage microphones. The sound of one particular 1920s RCA Ribbon mic seemed to hold that something special.

When the producer explained it was the very same microphone that Aleister Crowley had used to record his rare spoken word pieces, Thee Manatees knew they had found their sound. Given this, it seemed natural to release their double A side single on ‘Satanic Black’ vinyl.
